A Classic Car Owners Delight

Headlam Hall is an ideal venue for classic car groups and clubs looking for a touring base in the north of England. Firstly, the owners of Headlam Hall are classic car enthusiasts themselves with a modest collection of cars (including Jaguar, Porsche, Lotus, Austin, MG and Mercedes), some of which are available for guests to hire for the day.

Secondly, this charming historic property has 38 luxurious bedrooms, ample lounge space, a spa, golf course and gardens in which to relax after a day on the road. We also have the added benefit of our Coach House facilities which provides a private bar, lounge and dining area for up to 100 guests so you can have your own space within the hotel.

Thirdly, the location. Headlam is a pretty hamlet in lower Teesdale on the County Durham and North Yorkshire border. It is located mid-way between the towns of Darlington and Barnard Castle, a 15 minute drive from the A1M at Scotch Corner. This secluded location is perfect for daily drives into the Yorkshire dales, the Northumberland countryside and coast, the Lake District and, of course, the Durham dales of Teesdale and Weardale which offer fabulous roads in open countryside without the traffic that can hamper some of the more well-known tourism areas. We also have some excellent local heritage attractions in Raby Castle and the Bowes Museum.

Headlam Hall has hosted numerous car groups and clubs over the years including Porsche Club GB, Jaguar Driver’s Club, Aston Martin Owners Club, Austin Healey Club and many more. We have also hosted classic car rallies and manufacturer press events as the roads in the area are so good for motoring journalists to conduct their road tests.

As well as groups, Headlam is a fabulous stop-off for individual car enthusiasts on a driving holiday, possible on their way to or from Scotland. All in all, we don’t think you will find a better or more accommodating place than Headlam Hall so we look forward to seeing you this summer!
