Private Parties & Celebrations

Headlam Hall has a long-standing reputation as being a great venue for private parties such as birthday celebrations, anniversaries, long service awards, charity balls and club/society lunches & dinners. As a family-owned hotel that has been under the same ownership for nearly 50 years we appreciate the importance of delivering great food and service for these special occasions and have many repeat guests with some celebrating their 40th and 60th birthdays with us as well as other occasions in between!

With ample carparking space, beautiful walled gardens and a selection of stylish and well-appointed private dining rooms we tick a lot of boxes when it comes to a successful event. We have rooms such as the Olive Room and Panelled Room which are perfect for smaller lunches and dinners for 8-16 guests. The hugely popular Drawing Room can seat up to 30 people and its elegant Georgian styling and views onto the main terrace and lawn make it a fabulous place for any special occasion.

Larger events are accommodated in the Coach House which is located just across the courtyard from the Main Hall. It is, in effect, a self-contained venue with its own private bar, lounge and main room. It is possible to take over all of these areas for your event with capacity for up to 120 guests seated at round tables. Alternatively, the Stable Lounge can be set for up to seat 50 guests and this delightful space has stunning views as well as its own private terrace area. The main room in the Coach House is also suitable for dancing to either a live band or our in-house disco.

We can accommodate weddings at Headlam but only on an exclusive-use basis when the wedding party have sole use of the whole hotel for 24 hours along with 30 bedrooms. This approach means that if you choose to hold your wedding reception at Headlam you will be the sole focus of attention and will be able to relax with your guests enjoying a genuine private country house experience.
